Mentoring Program
The Tulare Kings Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Mentoring Program is designed to connect experienced business professionals with those who are new to the Chamber, or seeking to enhance their knowledge in a particular field. The program is led by members of the Chamber who are experts in their respective industries.
Program Goals:
- To provide a platform for members to share knowledge, skills, and experience
- To promote professional growth and development
- To foster relationships and networking opportunities within the Chamber
Mentor Responsibilities:
- Share their knowledge, expertise, and experience in a particular industry or field
- Provide guidance, support, and feedback to mentees
- Set goals and expectations with mentees
- Attend regular meetings with mentees and track progress
Mentee Responsibilities:
- Be open to learning and seeking guidance
- Set goals and expectations with their mentor
- Attend regular meetings with their mentor
- Take initiative in their learning and growth
La Mejor Vida
Objective
Educating young ladies from Tulare & Kings County, ages 12-17 about life skills & self-development that will create a foundation for a successful future.
End goal
Certification from Tulare Kings Hispanic Foundation shows that the young ladies completed the six-month series of classes & lifelong connections to help with career advancement. The young ladies will also be partnering with a business or mentor for an internship in the Summer of 2024
How will the classes be completed?
The young ladies will be meeting virtually on Zoom once a month for 60 minutes hosted by Debbie Landers & Jessica Lozano-Delgado, the first Thursday of each month from 4-5 pm
Incentive
Each week after completion of the class, the young ladies will receive a gift certificate via email to a fast-food place or Starbucks. We will create an Instagram account to share positive affirmations, share tips & invite the young ladies to events hosted by the Tulare Kings Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. This will keep our engagement with the young ladies while
also promoting the members from our chamber. This program will also be promoted on the radio & various media outlets.
Titles of classes:
1 – Let’s learn about business Leadership – Citizen Business Bank – Let’s learn about life skills & personal development! Guest speaker, Debbie Landers
2 – Let’s learn about multiple streams of income & being your own boss. Guest speaker Teri Fisher.
3 – Let’s learn about Internships & how to obtain one for the Summer of 2024. Guest speaker –
4 – Let’s learn about social media & utilizing it for your future’s favor. Guest speaker Jessica Lozano
5 – Let’s learn about goal setting & habits to improve your life. Guest speaker –
6 – Certification ceremony, each young lady will tell her story about how she will apply what she learned from this series of classes & where they will be applying for an internship for the

LITERACY PROGRAMS
Hispanic Chamber Foundation Of Tulare-Kings Counties (HCFTKC) is proud to provide financial literacy programs that help to improve financial literacy in our local communities. Our target audience is low-to-moderate income communities in Tulare and Kings Counties.
Financial Literacy Programs For All Ages
K-8 Teach Children to Save
Program learning objective is to develop lifelong savings habits at an early age.
About The Program
In partnership with local banks and community partners, the program consists of student activities, communication tools, reading books, and presentation lessons covering topics: Money Recognition, Savings, and Financial Careers.

High School
The program teaches personal finance topics such as budgeting, banking, credit, and avoiding financial hardship.

In partnership with local banks and local high schools, the program consists of student activities, communication tools, industry partners, and workshops covering topics: Budgeting, Banking Basics, Smart About Credit, and Financial Goals.
Young Adults
The program teaches consumer credit basics such as credit cards, car loans, and home financing.
